2 nights & 3 days

Features: – Audio visual workshop along with practical telescope view of various planets, moon, sun, galaxy & nebulae.

Details

Day 1

  • Arrival in the morning, refreshments/Breakfast served
  • Lecture – Introduction to astronomy, its role with context of development of civilization, Historical development in astronomy – India & World. (Documentary movie + Question/Answer round.)

Post Lunch

  • Local excursion to refresh mind of kids and discuss the topic in a friendly discussion.

Night 1

  • Introduction to telescope – Development in the tool, Types, Settings & applicability.
  • Setting up telescope – focusing on Venus & Moon.
  • Bonfire/ Music + Games/ Dinner

Day 2

  • Breakfast served
  • Detailed information about modern day astronomy – Achievements, Discoveries & Developments. (Documentary movie + Question/Answer round.)

Post Lunch (Or lunch packed)

  • Visit to Tiger Waterfall to rejuvenate minds.

Night 2

  • Setting up telescope – focusing on Jupiter & Saturn (Andromeda Galaxy & Orion nebulae – If conditions are right)
  • Bonfire/ Music + Games/ Dinner

Day 3

  • Breakfast served
  • Analysis of student notes
  • Doubt clearing & Group discussion.
  • Departure

Items required to be brought along with luggage by the students.

Photography workshop

Suitable for kids of class 7th – 12th (11-16 Year Old)

2 nights & 3 days

Features: - Basic level workshop, focused on skill development, Techniques & understand of camera & possible career objectives.

Details

Day 1

  • Arrival in the morning, refreshment/breakfast served
  • Class about – Introduction to photography,
  1. Brief history of photography
  2. Understanding camera
  3. Basic image composition rules
  4. Understanding your subject.
  • Question & answer round.

Post Lunch

  • Excursion to field practice – Focused on Portraits.

Evening

  • Analysis of photographs clicked by students, Doubt clearing session.
  • Class about – Camera settings for different light conditions.

Night 1

  • Bonfire/ Music + Games/ Dinner

Day 2

  • Breakfast served
  • Class about – Modern scenario in field of photography,
  1. Different branches of photography
  2. Photography as a hobby
  3. Photography as a career

Lunch is packed for excursion to either Tiger waterfall or Deoban or a similar place

  • Practice session in field focused on – nature photography – Landscape/Wildlife/Natural elements.

Evening

  • Analysis of photographs clicked by students, Doubt clearing session.
  • Lottery for creating groups for day 3 activity
  • Topics given for day 3 activity.

Night 2

  • Tips given for night photography
  • Bonfire/ Music + Games/ Dinner

Day 3

  • Breakfast served
  • 2 hour group activity as decided on night 2
  • Analysis, tips & comments given on the improvement of skills.
  • Departure

Items required to be brought along with luggage by the students.

  1. Camera (Digital or Phone with detachable memory card or working data cable to transfer photos)
  2. Notebook, pen & other stationary items.
  3. Prints, magazine editions or examples of favorite photos that the student found inspiring (optional)

Survival techniques workshop

Suitable for kids of class 10th – 12th (14 – 16 Year Old)

2 nights & 3 days

Features: - Basic techniques to survive in the wilderness in situation of being lost or injured.

Details

Day 1

  • Arrival in the morning, Refreshment/Breakfast served.
  • Briefing about – Idea of survival.
  1. Need and applicability.
  2. Stress, anxiety & fear management in difficult scenario.
  3. Precautions to be taken before going into wild places.
  4. Cautions to be taken while in the wild places.
  5. Preserving nature.

Post Lunch

  • Excursion to Tiger waterfall or places nearby.

Evening

  • Introduction to fire techniques.
  1. How to make fire.
  2. How to control fire.
  3. How to use fire to cook.

Night 1

  • Bonfire/ Music + Games/ Dinner

Day 2

  • Breakfast served
  • Lunch packed and we head to jungle zone.
  • Trekking/Hiking or Desert safari (As per the place of workshop)

Tips and instructions given about –

  1. Group as well as individual behavior while in the wild.
  2. How to locate a safe place to camp.
  3. Clearing the area.
  4. Building a shed.
  5. Searching food and water.
  6. Finding directions.
  7. Distress signals.
  8. Keeping safe distance from wild animals.
  9. Steps to be taken in case of injury.

Lunch served in the wild.

Post Lunch.

  • We search a place and set up a camp.
  • Prepare to bonfire and cook meal.
  • Participants are divided in groups and asked to complete tasks using tips provided during workshop.
  • Bonfire/Dinner/Story telling & sharing.

Day 3

  • Breakfast served.
  • Briefing about techniques learned.
  • Pledge to preserve environment.
  • Head back to base camp to pick up luggage.
  • Departure

Items required to be brought along with luggage by the students.

  1. A small knife (small kitchen knife or a small jungle knife under 3 inch compulsion)
  2. A rope (7 – 10 meters)
  3. A backpack.
  4. Two poly-bags (2 – 5 Kilogram size)
  5. A few matchboxes ( 2 – 3 in numbers)
  6. Two candles.
  7. First aid kid ( Crap-bandage, bandage, band aids, cotton role and a few medicines)
  8. A 1 liter water bottle.
  9. A pair of full sleeve clothing ( full sleeve T-shirt, Pants or trek pants, socks, sports or jungle shoes)
  10. A pair of handkerchiefs.
  11. A whistle (optional)

Workshops are usually held at Off Course basecamps at Chakrata (Uttarakhand) & Jaisalmer (Rajasthan)

  • Pick & Drop from nearest inter-state bus terminus or railway station, along with all local transport during the trip.
  • Lodging & boarding in camps or hotel as per the location & nature of workshop.
  • All meals.
  • Guides in the field for safety and knowledge sharing.

What we expect

  • 1 – 2 teachers or supervisors standing responsible for behavioral aspects of student group.

Fee for workshops starts from INR 6200/- (For group of 0-15), INR 5700/- (For group of 15-20), INR 5200/- (For group of above 20 participants)
